Horses in Training / Available for adoption

These young horses will be available for adoption on a discretionary basis. Adoption fees for trained horses start at $1,750.

These horses were born at MCR in 2014 to mares that were born in the wild on the open range in Nevada. The pregnant mares were rounded up in 2012 from the McDermitt reservation and saved by MCR from a kill buyer in Fallon, Nevada.

The McDermitt horses are a little taller, bigger horses, with thoroughbred or draft influence. Their mom's are branded, very nice quarter horse types (but very wild!) and are permanent residents of MCR's big herd.
