Meet Fey. Brutally chased down. Terrorized. Penned. This just a glimpse of what Fey, a wild palomino filly, experienced during a horrific roundup of wild horses in Nevada. Unlike federally-protected mustangs, Fey was rounded up from tribal lands and was headed for slaughter.
Roundups like these occur routinely throughout the year. Wild horses are being harassed, abused, and even killed.
But we’re making a difference for individual horses.
We provide refuge for mustangs deemed unadoptable. We rescue neglected horses from kill pens, and we provide them with a new life through our training and adoption program.

When we answered the call about Fey, we heard the story of the roundup.
The day of the stampede was hot, and horses were soaked in sweat. They were run for miles and the helicopter contractors and men on ATVs took no consideration for their safety. Once trapped, they began to panic, piling on top of each other while attempting to escape the pen. Fey was banged up in the process.
Shortly after the roundup, young horses were separated from their mothers and left in a pen with dozens of other newly orphaned horses. Their mothers were shipped to auction.
It’s heartbreaking to even have to write that. We had to do something. We agreed to take Fey and 5 other young horses into our training program. After a period of much-needed healing, they are all doing great.
Fey and the other orphans were the lucky ones. But far too many horses just like Fey -- once proud and free -- now sit languishing in holding pens, or at auction yards at risk every day of being killed or sold for slaughter. Please help us do more for wild horses like Fey.
